Annual Hike, Bike & BBQ at Top of the Valley Farm
    Beaver Valley, near Kimberley, Ontario

We’re excited to invite Ski Bees members to our annual Hike, Bike, and BBQ at Top of the Valley Farm. Join us for an afternoon on the trails, followed by a relaxed evening with good food and great company.

    • Arrive early at 1:30 PM if you’d like to join the hike, meet at the farm to organize car pooling,

    • Social and BBQ  to follow, begin at 4:00 PM.

    • If you plan on hiking, please RSVP to the hiking event as well—so we don’t head out without you!

This year, we’ll enjoy a guided hike along the “Two Bridges” trail (about 4 km). While it’s rated easy, keep in mind it’s a single-track dirt path with stones, roots, and some hills—so you’ll likely break a sweat! The trail has a special place in our hearts, as it was a favorite daily walk with Digz for many years.

After the hike, we’ll gather for a BBQ dinner. If the winds are low, we’ll also light a bonfire to cap off the evening.

    What to Bring:

    • Your own beverages (BYOB)

    • We will supply the burgers and desert, you bring a pot luck side.

    • A chair for relaxing after the hike and BBQ

    • you may get a chill after hiking, bring a warm layer to enjoy the BBQ

    Elevation, it is hilly!

If you plan on making a weekend of it, there are two B&B's in the area that are handy to the trails They do book up, so if you are planning on staying, be sure to reserve soon. The B&B contact information is in the auto reply when you rsvp.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with this trail map to locate runs best suited for your skiing ability level. For our gentler skiers: Start off on The Arrowhead chair and get off mid way. Ski the runs "ABC" and "Lower Alpine" to warm you up and get you used to the daily conditions. From the top of this Arrowhead chair lift you may access the "Arrowhead" run (to the left)  which is a designated blue run. After becoming comfortable on this run, the progression would be to then add the runs "Kent "and "Alpine"  from either the Arrowhead chair or the Summit chair.  There are quite a few other "BLUE" runs off these two chairs as well as numerous "black runs" which should keep everyone happy!
Please be reminded that the Millennium chair services mainly black runs, and only has 2 blue runs off of it, Long John's is a steeper, dark blue run, and "Snow Poke" is the long winding blue road which brings you back to the main clubhouse.
The Steeps chair is DOUBLE BLACKS ONLY.
